The final cover and four alternatives for Grief is the Thing with Feathers by Max Porter. The four cover options and the approved design were featured in а book about book-cover design and its process, NO, NO, NO, NO, YES: BOOK DESIGN UNCOVERED. One of the collages also featured on Lit Hub's website as the header for an article about NO, NO, NO, NO, YES. Heavily rooted in the poetry of Ted Hughes the “Dylan Thomas award” winning book, a hybrid between prose, poem and novella, needed a special approach. I had the time to study the text and to observe, photograph, draw paint and collage Crow. I filled in folders and notepads with test covers and I only submitted a handful when I was sure I have managed to depict the many faces of Crow and the emotions it evokes.
